Driving Through the Forests of the Rocky Mountain Front
Although the Sun River Loop Backcountry Drive in Central Montana spends most of it's time out in the open, the middle section of the drive (about 15 miles or so) cuts through the forest. Despite the trees, however, there are many, many superb views in this section of the drive. The "forested part" of this drive, it should be noted, is closed during the winter.
