The Sun River Loop Backcountry Drive is a beautiful 51-mile drive that begins, and ends, just outside of the town of Augusta, Montana. This spectacular drive first heads across the prairie toward the Rocky Mountain Front, then climbs into the mountains as it travels to the west of the Sun River Wildlife Management Area (WMA), and finally returns toward Augusta as it follows the Sun River and skirts the northern boundary of the Sun River WMA.
