Photos of the Sun River Loop Backcountry Drive

The Sun River Loop Backcountry Drive is a beautiful 51-mile drive that begins, and ends, just outside of the town of Augusta, Montana. This spectacular drive first heads across the prairie toward the Rocky Mountain Front, then climbs into the mountains as it travels to the west of the Sun River Wildlife Management Area (WMA), and finally returns toward Augusta as it follows the Sun River and skirts the northern boundary of the Sun River WMA. Anyone who enjoys expansive and diverse views, and loves the expansiveness of the Rocky Mountain Front of Montana, should absolutely find the time to take this beautiful drive.
