The Gold Bug Trail

The Gold Bug Trail on Jubilee Peak at Discovery Ski Area

The Gold Bug Trail, a beginner run, is by far the best beginner trail at Discovery Ski Area. Indeed, I'd venture to say the Gold Bug Trail is the best beginner trail at any ski area in Montana. What makes the Gold Bug Trail unique is that it has very widely scattered trees in the trail, making the trail much more fun to ski than a traditional wide, flat beginner trail. The trees also make the trail much more attractive. Very few people ski this trail, as the trail is on Jubilee Peak, the second mountain at Discovery which few people bother to ski on since it only contains three trails. But for beginners, Jubilee Peak is an ideal place to learn to ski or snowboard. Oh yeah, there's zero lift lines on the chair that leads to the top of Jubilee Peak, too.
