Columbus is a nice little town situated along Interstate 90 and the Yellowstone River. Since Columbus is just 42 miles from Billings, Columbus and the surrounding area has seen some growth the past decade. Additionally, Columbus is ideally situated for outdoor recreation in southern Montana, as the Absaroka Mountains are about thirty miles to the south and the Yellowstone River and the Stillwater River flow just to the south of town. The Beartooth Front Scenic Drive also begins in Columbus.
