Located in Southern Montana, Big Timber is a great little town that has a superb location for outdoor recreation. Two excellent trout fishing rivers, the Yellowstone River and the Boulder River, pass right outside of town. Moreover, Big Timber is the jumping off-spot for many trips into the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. Several beautiful scenic drives also begin right outside of town, including the Boulder River Scenic Drive, the Crazy Mountains Backcountry Drive and the West Boulder Scenic Drive.
