Empty Medicine Lodge Valley and The Beaverhead Mountains
Once the Big Sheep Creek Backcountry Byway leaves the Tendoy Mountains and Big Sheep Creek Canyon behind, it enters a vast, empty and arid valley called the Medicine Lodge Valley that stretches all the way to the border with Idaho. The mountains in the distance are the Beaverhead Mountains and form the continental divide.
