This is the only photo I've been able to find that shows the Boxing Arena in Shelby. The arena was specifically built for the Dempsey vs. Gibbons fight. Following the fight, the lumber of the arena was repossessed and sold for scrap. Today, nothing remains of the arena - not even an historical marker. A pizza hut and several other local businesses now stand where this arena used to be.
