Quake Lake in Montana, Photo #2

Quake Lake was formed when a massive rockslide - the bare area in the photo - created a dam on the Madison River. Since Quake Lake created a dam, the forest in the lower valley was flooded - leading to all those dead trees sticking up out of the water.
