The Sorel Waterfall is one of the most popular styles of Sorel's available for women. The boot is very stylish looking and is light-years removed from the bulky, standard winter boot look found in other Sorel styles, such as the Caribou.

However, like other Sorel Boots, the Waterfall is very warm, with a temperature rating of -25 degrees fahrenheit. And just like other Sorels, the bottom of the boot is rubber...thus being 100% waterproof.

One big difference between the Waterfall and most other Sorel's is that the rubber bottom of the boot does not extend very far up the boot. Instead, the rubber bottom gives way to a 100% waterproof upper made of suede leather. This allows the boot to be somewhat lighter than one would expect for a tall boot such as this (21 ounces), while at the same time retaining the boots very nice looks.

These boots are ideal for day to day use, whether that be commuting, shoveling snow or just around town boots. Like all other Sorels, the Waterfall has superb traction. As such, it makes for an ideal winter boot for women who are seeking a warm, durable boot that also looks nice.

Prices : Generally, the Waterfall boot (tall) retails for around $125, landing it in the "middle tier" of Sorel Boot prices. Usually Zappos has them for around $105 or less. The low cut version of the Waterfall usually retails around $110, while Zappos has them for around $95.

Advantages of the Sorel Waterfall Boot

Sorel Waterfall boots are excellent, fashionable snow boots for day to day use - and which don't look like a typical Sorel. That said, these boots are NOT designed for heavy use in the mud, as the suede leather is likely to be a pain to clean.

First, the lower portion of the boot is made of rubber. This provides 100% waterproof protection. The rubber also makes the boot very easy to clean, especially if the boot is muddy. The upper is also 100% waterproof, being made of suede leather.

Second, the boot provides excellent insulation against cold weather. The boot has a temperature rating of -25 degrees - although you'll need to use a Winter Sock to achieve this level of protection from the cold.

Third, the boot has a very nice looking and functional snow guard. The Sherpa pile collar on the top of the boot helps keep the snow out and the wamth in, and looks very nice too.

Fourth, as this boot is quite tall, it makes for a fine boot for using in deep snow. Just remember to stay out of deep mud. Note, the low cut version of the Waterfall boot isn't ideal for use in deep snow!
