Sorel Caribou Boot

Sorel Caribou Boot
The Sorel Caribou Boot

The Sorel Caribou Boot is in my opinion one of the finest snow and winter boots available today. Unlike so many other winter boots on the market, this boot is designed for both style and function. The boot can be safely taken into the deep mud, slushy snow and in deep powder. Most importantly, the boot can be worn comfortably in very cold weather all day long. The Caribou boot is also legendary for incredible durability.

In short, the Sorel Caribou boot is ideal for anyone who needs a winter boot that will work superbly in a wide variety of winter conditions. For the person who only wants to own one pair or winter or snow boots, this boot would be the ideal boot to own.

And, rather happily, like many Sorels, the Caribou also has replacement liners available. By and large, you can expect the liner to last fronm 5-15 years...depending on how often you wear the boot and what type of activities you do while wearing it. Replacement liners typically are in the $25-$35 dollar range.

Styles Available

All styles of the Sorel Caribou Boots shown below are available for purchase through Zappos. Zappos provides free shipping on all orders and has a huge selection of footwear. Why buy Boots at Zappos?

Prices : Generally, the Caribou Boot retails for around $140. Usually Zappos has them for around $120 or less. And, if you want a very good deal, wait till the end of winter - the prices of the boot typically plummet to less than $50 although popular sizes can be difficult to obtain. Note, the Sorel Caribou Reserve for Women is a luxury boot and is much more expensive than the normal boot is.

Advantages of the Sorel Caribou Boot

These boots work so well in the winter for five reasons:

First, the lower portion of the boot is made of rubber. This provides 100% waterproof protection. The rubber also makes the boot very easy to clean, especially if the boot is muddy.

Second, the boot has an excellent insulation liner - which also happens to be replaceable, too. The insulation consists of 9mm ThermoPlus® felt InnerBoot that provides superb warmth, moisture transfer, comfort, and durability. This allows the boot to have a temperature rating of -40 degrees.

Third, the boot has a built-in snow cuff. The snow cuff is a blend of acrylic and wool and effectively keeps snow from falling down into the boot.

Fourth, the boot has an upper leather that is also 100% waterproof. The upper extends far above the ankle, providing excellent protection from deep snow and mud.

Fifth, the Sorel Caribou Boot is legendary in terms of durability. It is very common for a Caribou Boot to last ten years or more, even when used on a daily basis. The removable and replaceable inner liner also greatly extends the life of the boot.
