Hiking Books about Glacier National Park

The Trout Lake Hiking Trail by and large passes through moderately wooded terrain on it's way up and then back down Howe Ridge, although much of the undergrowth on the Lake McDonald side of Howe Ridge was burned over during the Robert Fire of 2003. One of the best views you'll get while hiking the Trout Lake Trail arise at an avalanche chute that runs down from Stanton Mountain. This particular photograph looks up the avalanche chute, toward the summit of Stanton Mountain, as seen from the Trout Lake Trail.
