Expansive Views on the Sweet Grass Hills Backcountry Drive
One thing that is not lacking on the Sweet Grass Hills Backcountry Drive are expansive views. On a clear day, from the top of the rolling hills, you can seemingly see forever. The road followed is also visible in this photograph. By and large the road is in fine condition. Just beware, especially if in a two-wheel drive vehicle, of wet roads and mud. The Sweet Grass Hills of Montana are NOT a place you want to get stuck as almost certainly your cell phone won't work. And due to the areas remote location, anyone who manages to get stuck in the mud is likely to have a very, very long wait before someone happens to pass by.
