Hiking Books about Glacier National Park

This photograph shows the fire line (in the distance), of where the Trapper Creek Fire just seemed to "stop". This location is easy to find - all the trees in front of it are completely dead and even the ground cover hasn't fully returned yet (so it was burning hot in this section). Yet, just a stone throw away, the vegetation grows as normal. More than likely, some environmental condition set in that limited the growth of the Trapper Creek Fire in this direction. It is also possible that Glacier Park fire crews created a fire line, too, so as to protect the Granite Park Chalet.
