The Highline Trail is really a great hiking trail to see Wildlife in
Glacier National Park. Shown here is a Ptarmigan, which showed no great
hurry to vacate its rock even as I approached it. I soon found out why.
Scurrying around in the nearby grass was four baby Ptarmigan. So, the
bird, to take attention away from its young, decided to make itself highly
visible. I would have never noticed the young Ptarmigan except for the
incessant "chirping" that the babies did.
