This is "The
Bowl" at Big Sky Resort. It was taken at the bottom of the
bowl, right at the beginning of the Lone Peak Triple Chairlift.
"The Bowl" at Big Sky is truly massive and provides for some
absolutely stunning expert and advanced skiing.
As you can
see, "The Bowl"
lies between two ridgelines. The ridge on the left is called
the "South Wall" and seperates this bowl from the skiing found
on the
"South Face" of Lone Peak. You can get to the top of the "South
Wall" only by taking the Lone Peak Tram to the summit and then
traversing down. It is easy to do in good weather - not so easy
in bad!
The ridge
on the right is accessed off of the Challenger Double Chair,
and provides for some fabulous skiing in the chutes and the trees. |
