Winnett, Montana,
is quite literally full of old and abandoned buildings. Indeed,
in some ways the town is sort of a functioning ghost town. During
the height of the economic boom in this part of Montana, Winnett
and Petroleum County had a population of over 2000 people. Today,
the population is only around 550 people in the entire county.
The loss of people has occurred due to consolidation in the agricultural
industry as well as the end of the gas and oil boom. |
