| Prior to 1974, the Milwaukee Road had an electrified rail line that passed through Deer Lodge. The train engine seen here is a E-70, Class EF-4, 3000 horsepower electric locomotive. This was the primary locomotive used on this portion of the Milwaukee Road rail line. These locomotives were very efficient and excellent freight movers in mountainous area. |
