This picture was taken at Logan Pass, a few days after the Going to the Sun Road opened for the year. Notice the huge amounts of snow still lingering around. Fact is, it was just an average snow year during the winter of 2002-2003. However, a cold spring delayed the spring melt-off a bit, resulting in a somewhat higher than normal snowpack for late Spring (although not like in the summer of 2002, where snow lingered around almost all summer). Going to the Sun Mountain is seen rising in the distance.
