This is the
spillway at Fort Peck Lake. The spillway is used as an "overflow"
of Fort Peck Lake. During high water levels, water will be drained
from the lake through the spillway so as to prevent the lake from
over-filling and going over the dam. As you can see here, though,
no water is going through. Indeed, the water levels in Fort Peck
Lake when I last visited were so low that the water didn't even
reach the spillway! As such, the spillway was left high and dry. |
