Wigwam Socks

Wigwam, in the event you never heard of them, make a wide variety of socks for all occasions. And in somewhat of a novelty these days, all Wigwam socks are made in the USA instead of some dingy foreign factory.
I ignored Wigwam socks for years, happily focusing instead on Smartwool and Thorlos. But as fate would have it, the local REI had a sale on Wigwam socks while being out of the type of Smartwools I had hoped to buy to reinforce my winter sock collection. So I took a chance on Wigwam’s Hiker/Outdoor line of socks.
I must say, I’ve become a convert. In this article, I discuss some of the differences between Smartwool, Thorlos and Wigwam socks. But for brevity on this page, I’ll just say the Wigwam Hiker/Outdoor socks are superb socks for cold, winter weather. The socks are extremely comfortable, reasonably soft and don’t have the one issue I’ve never quite liked about Smartwools (which is periodically leaving bits of the sock behind on the floor!). Wigwam socks are also easier to take care of, since they aren’t made of Merino Wool.
Thus, if you are looking for a warm, winter sock that is more durable than Smartwools (and are willing to sacrifice a bit of softness in exchange), the Wigwam Hiking/Outdoor Pro line of socks is an excellent choice.

Wigwam Hiker/Outdoor Sock : The Wigwam Hiker/Outdoor is a unisex sock (with multiple sizes), so it's available for both Women and Men. Several colors are also available. |
But I Don’t Like The Style!
Well, no worries. Shown below is the full line of Wigwam socks that are available, although many styles are for summer type weather and activities not usually done in the snow!
All of these socks are available through Zappos, which offers free return shipping in the event you need to send the socks back for some reason.
