Shearling Hats Checklist

Sure You Want Shearling? Shearling (and UGG) hats are wonderfully soft and warm. However, if you plan on getting them very wet or will be very active and sweating profusely, you might consider a fleece hat instead since fleece hats are far easier to clean and dry. |

What Kind of Style? Hats are such a personal thing I'm not even about to go there - especially for women's hats. However, as a guy, I always thought "bucket hats" (in the cute style) looked rather nice on most women. Take that free advice for what it's worth, though. |

Don't Forget the Cleaner! If you get an UGG hat you WILL want to get cleaner for it, too. Similar to Ugg Boots, your UGG Hat will require a bit more tender loving care than a normal fleece hat. Care and cleaning instructions are the same for Ugg hats as they are for UGG boots. UGG Hats aren't Ski Hats! Hats by Ugg look great around town or at the Chalet after a day spent skiing. However, you're probably asking for trouble if you use UGG Hats for active pursuits like skiing, hunting, etc...Other shearling type hats aren't any different, either. For intense activities, you're always best off going with a fleece hat instead. |

Earmuff vs. Hat? Hat's are far, far warmer. Of course, they destroy your hair for the day - although depending on your hair style that may not be a bad thing. By and large, for warmth go with a hat - for style and for very short-periods in very cold weather, go with a earmuff. Ears get cold before anything else does - so by keeping them warm you'll be good to go for most things you might do in very cold weather, provided you aren't outside for too terribly long. |
