Prairie & Mountains in Central Montana
My favorite time to visit this part of Montana is during the Spring and very early summer. During this time the grass is green (or at least turning green) and there's still enough snow up in the mountains to provide a beautiful contrast agains the blue sky and green foliage. As you can see in this photo, I just missed (by about a week) the last of the snow in the mountains, as by July the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountain Front is generally devoid of snow.
