Well, leave it to the feds to screw up something that worked quite well. Up until recently, you could go to the SnoTel site, find the site you wanted, and pull up the information in a nice, easy to read format.
But of course, the feds being the feds, moved everything around...making the info rather hard to find. As such, and since figuring out snow pack levels is rather important for Montana, thought I'd put some links to various places that people will want to check out from time to time that relate to precipitation and snow pack levels in Montana. I'll pin this post so it doesn't disappear into the depths of the forum Main Montana Snowpack page - Where you can start fiddling around trying to find out which "snow product" you want to view. Montana Snow Depth Map - This is kind of a nice map. But, it's slow to load and is a .PDF file. Montana List of Snow Depth Sites - Remember the old way to find Snow Depth by station? Here is the page to do that. The "map" above is the new way. Quick Links to selected important/interesting snotel site information.
Montana SnoTel Sites : Listings of all SnoTel sites in the State. Click on a site to bring up the standard reports. Montana Snow Pack Trend Graphs - Will display a graph of snowpack trends by basin. Kind of handy, but a pain to find on their site. I'll add more later or, if someone wants me to add something to this list, let me know Last edited by admin : 10-17-2008 at 08:52 AM. |
