Question Charles M Russell: Bowhunting Elk and Mule Deer

I'm looking for any information I can get on bowhunting Elk and Mule Deer in the Charles M. Russell Wildlife Refuge.

Hi 10Point,

I'm not a bow hunter, so I won't offer any advice on that.

However, having hunted elk last year south of Fort Peck Lake (and north of Winnett), I can tell you that chasing down elk in that area is not an easy thing to do. The distances are vast, and the elk have absolutely countless places to hide. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, you may want to take a look at the photos I took from last years hunt that show the "Missouri Breaks" region of Montana, which is where I gather you may end up doing some hunting.

Default Great Pictures

Jim, your right the pictures say alot and there great. But I've caught the Elk bug and have decided I need to start somewhere. Thanks the pictures have made the desire worse, but also the motivation to get in shape stronger.
