Default Paddling in Glacier

Hi,
New here to the forum, but will probably be asking lots of questions and using the search tool in the next couple weeks. We're planning on towing our Airstream from Cincinnati to Glacier at the end of the month, and will be bringing our tandem kayak to try and find some good paddling.

We're camping just outside the park in West Glacier, and would love to hear about recommended day trips on Glacier's lakes that are reachable by 4WD truck. I've heard that one good one is Swiftcurrent Lake and Lake Josephine, and that under the right conditions, you can paddle the river between the two. Anyone know if this is doable in late August/early September?

Again, I'll do some searching, but in the meantime, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Tom
