Bet you are glad you brought your 30-06 instead of the smaller caliber rifle many folks suggested. The smaller round would have had a hard time stopping and dropping that buck at 404 yards.
Too bad you didn't score on a bull elk but I'm sure you had the adventure of a life time. I bet hunting Montana is second only to hunting the "dark continent" for big or dangerous game, especially when you know there are animals like grizzly bears around that might eat you.
I can only guess at your feelings when you found the grizzly bear tracks out side your tent in the morning! No wonder you were in a motel room the next night!
I sincerely regret not being able to meet up with you in my home state of Montana and if you ever get back here to "big sky country" I will again try to meet up with you.
I would like to take you on a deer / antelope/ pheasant hunt on my turf!
We have bears and cougars but they aren't likely to try to eat you.
What were your friends thoughts about hunting the great state of Montana?
