What's New at Big Sky Fishing.Com.gif)
This page is simply
a listing of site construction progression. I will list
anything
new that gets posted on this site roughly once every week
or two. As new things are added on a almost daily basis,
this
is a good place to check to look for the latest information
at Big Sky Fishing.Com. Archives are available of the
entire site progression. Just follow the menu links at
the bottom of each page to see a progression.
November 24th,
2004 - Just got back from a hunting
trip out in Winnett. Part of our trip involved hunting
in the Missouri Break area. Have uploaded a new photo
gallery that showcases this area. Visit the Missouri
Breaks Photo Gallery.
Also
cleaned up and re-organized some of the photo galleries
on the site - including the main photo gallery page.
And lastly,
added in some beautiful Sheepskin
Rugs into the Country
Gifts and Home section.
November 13th,
2004 - Just in time for winter, I've
put together information about Snow
Boots. I'm a big
fan of Sorel
Boots, so thought it high-time to put up
some information about them. Also included is product
listings of Sorel
Boots for Men and Sorel
Boots for Women.
Plus,
I couldn't resist adding in some information about Ugg
Boots. In case you haven't heard, Ugg Boots are wildly
popular. Included in this section is general information
about Ugg Boots, product listings of Ugg
Boots for Men and Ugg
Boots for Women, plus an Ugg
Boot Care Guide.
Also
included is a guide on How
to Keep Your Feet Warm during
cold weather.
November 10th,
2004 - Well, what a busy month! So
busy I forgot about this section until now. Where to
begin. Let's see, in mid-October someone hacked into
my prior web hosts server and uploaded a bunch of files
to a hobby site I have - turning it into a big "spam
directory" site for mortgage ads! Needless to say, I
wasn't very impressed with either how my hobby site
became a spam site or the security provided by my old
web host. So...had the fun of completely moving both
the
hobby
site and
this site (all 4000 pages of it) to a new host. This
"little project" took about 2 weeks. I then spent another
week or two chasing down various errors and other odd
things that always seem to occur when you move a site
to a new
web host.
The
good news, though, is that a ton of new features has
now been added to Big Sky Fishing. A brand new
forum,
much more powerful than the previous one, has been added.
And,
best of all, a new software package has been installed
that lets users install their own photographs! If you
have some pictures of Montana and would like to post
them online for all to see, take a trip over to the new
Online
Photo Gallery where you can post them for free. You
can also use this gallery to post any scenic Montana
web cam views you happen to come across while visiting
the many Montana
Web Cams that are available.
October 5th,
2004 - Argh...what a project. But
it is now mainly done. About 250-300 pages worth of content
and pictures have now been uploaded about the Montana
Hi-Line region. It covers most of the towns in the
region, provides numerous photographs and
a ton of information about the Hi-Line in general. Hope
you like it.....the
project took forever to complete! Also included is informaton
about Fort
Benton, too.
September 24th,
2004 - Just added information about
a new river for the site, the Judith
River. Also uploaded
information and photographs for Lewistown,
Montana and
Winnett,
Montana - which are part of the new and upcoming
"small Montana towns" section that is being
built. That section has now been completed, temporarily,
at least.
September 11th,
2004 - Several new photo galleries
have been added, including the Logging
Lake Trail Photo Gallery and a Glacier
Park Various Pictures Gallery #2.
Additionally, trail and fishing information has been
provided for Logging
Lake in Glacier National Park.
The whole
camping
gear section is also nearly done being revised.
Updated information about water
filters, backpacking
stoves and camp
stoves has been added.
August 24th,
2004 - A new photo gallery, the Grinnell
Glacier Trail Photo Gallery, has been added. I also reworked
the whole sunglasses section of the site. A Sunglass
Guide has been prepared and additional information is
listed now about Oakley
Sunglasses.
August 21st,
2004 - Did another sizeable addition.
Information about the Loop
Trail and the Trout
Lake Trail in Glacier have
been added. A Loop
Trail Photo Gallery has also
been posted. In addition, have posted another
Glacier
Photo Gallery with varioius shots from around
the park, including Trout Lake. Profiles for Fishercap
Lake, Bullhead
Lake and Red
Rock Lake in Glacier Park
have also been added.
August 19th,
2004 - Just did a huge update, with
a daunting amount yet to come. In any event, here is
what is new. First, completely revised the Hiking
Gear section. New information
has been provided about daypacks (also
known as technical backpacks) along with some recommended
packs to use when
day hiking in Montana. Updated information has been uploaded
about Hiking
Staffs and Trekking Poles, Rain
Jackets for Hiking, Hydration
Systems and the often forgot about but handy to have,
Hiking
Pants.
And
that is just the first part. A huge update has been done
to the Glacier
National Park section. New hiking trails,
including the Highline
Trail, Iceberg
Lake Trail and the
Swiftcurrent
Pass Trail have been profiled. Photo galleries
also exist for each of these trails - too. To find these
new photo galleries, you can visit the new Glacier
National Park Pictures page, for links to all Glacier photo galleries
on the site (there are more on the way!). There is still
more updates to be done to this Glacier Park section, so
a few dead links do exist right now.
August 8th,
2004 - Have just updated the Hiking
Boots section with new information and products, in preparation
for a bunch of new content about hiking in Glacier National
Park that is about to be added. The new hiking boot section
contains information about day
hiking boots and recommendations
on Men's
Hiking Boots and Women's
Hiking Boots. Also
provided is a page to find Hiking
Boots on Sale on the
net.
August 3rd,
2004 - I have so much new content
to put up on the site that it is rather daunting in figuring
out where to start. Also got sidelined for two weeks
in mid and late July while my Mom was out here
visiting - we went all over the state to grab some new
photographs and content. Look for it up on the site sometime
soon, I hope!.
I'm still
in the process of reworking the whole Western
Wear section
still. Just uploaded a new section on Western
Boots, including
an article on How
to Care for and Fit Cowboy Boots, as
well as pages about Lucchese
Boots, Ariat
Boots and Tony
Lama Boots.
Future
things to appear this month, hopefully, include coverage
of about 15 new towns in Montana (including Havre, Lewistown,
Glasgow), information about the Montana Hi-Line, many new
lakes, coverage of
some additional
rivers and a pecular section about some of Montana's Ghost
Towns. Also a few new trails in Glacier Park. I've gathered
the content and photographs for all of this, just need
to find
the
time
to
prepare
the
300+
pages about it! Hopefully by end of August.
July 9th, 2004 - Quite
a bit is new, just been lax about updating this part.
Took a trip out to Eastern Montana for two weeks, also
- so look for a bunch of new content coming soon about
the Hi-Line. Have also been busy doing "housekeeping"
on the site.
Finished
up the Montana
Skiing section for the year, adding in a
review and pictures of Great
Divide Ski Area.
Am in
the process of redoing the Western
Apparel section and
have added in a section about Cowboy
Hat Care, Stetson
Hats and Resistol
Cowboy Hats. Also updated the calendar section with
2005 Calendars.
