Note : The newsletter has been temporarily suspended until
I'm able to get things set up on my own server. The provider
I was using was just getting too expensive for a non-profit
newsletter.
To help our visitors
to keep up on the latest fishing and Montana news, Big Sky
Fishing.Com now offers a newsletter. This newsletter, which
will be sent out bi-monthly, more or less, will provide information
about the following:
- The latest news
about fishing conditions in Montana
- Interesting
news in Montana that may impact upcoming fly fishing trips
you may have, such as forest fires, low water levels and
river closures
- New additions
to the Big Sky Fishing.Com web site
- New fly fishing
gear that anglers may enjoy
- And much more
To sign up for
the newsletter, just add in your email address into the form
below.
Note!! To
prevent any unwanted delivery of our newsletters (i.e.
spam) we
now use a confirmed opt-in or "double opt-in" procedure.
Once you sign up for the newsletter, you will receive a
confirmation email. In order to receive the newsletter,
you will need to reply to this email. By replying to the
email, you will activate your account. If you do not reply
to the email, your email address will be automatically
deleted from our newsletter list.
And if you're concerned
about adding your email address to some spam list, have no
fears. Under no circumstances will we rent, lose, sell or
otherwise "misplace" your email address. Feel free
to review our privacy
policy if you have any questions about this.
Our newsletter
is a completely opt-in newsletter. This newsletter is only
sent to people who opt in directly from this web site. We
do not buy email addresses or rent out email lists like other
web sites do.
Any user who is
currently receiving the newsletter and no longer wants to
receive it can opt out at any time by clicking on the "unsubscribe"
link in all newsletters sent out. This feature actually works
too, as I accidentally removed myself. Clicking on the unsubscribe
link will immediately remove your email address from our mailing
list. If, for some reason, you have unsubscribed from the
newsletter but are still receving it, please contact
us and we will manually remove your email address from
the mailing list. Be sure to provide the email address that
you want removed!
The email list
for the bigskyfishing.com newsletter is not kept on our own
server or in my own personal address book on my home computer.
The reason for this is because due to security issues with
Microsoft Outlook, it is all too easy for a computer virus
to send out emails to anyone in a persons address book. Instead,
we use a newsletter service that manages our subscriber list.
This service provides the "backend" for the newsletter
and handles the subscriber list, along with providing the
newsletter templates. Note, by adding your email address
to receive the bigskyfishing.com newsletter, you will NOT
be adding it to any other newsletter that this service provider
manages. Feel free to visit their site to see what they
do and how they do it.
