Mammut MTR 201 Hydration Pack - 610cu in

Product Details

The MTR 201 Hydration Pack is Mammut's (and possibly the world's) lightest trail running pack for runners who don't want anything holding them back. Its Contact BaseFit suspension system provides a comfortable, secure, and stable ride while VenTech materials cover the back panel and shoulder straps to breathe and dry quickly. A zipper allows you to expand this 10-liter pack to 12 liters when you need to carry an extra layer or extra snacks, and there is a separate hydration compartment for your reservoir so your layers don't get wet. Pockets include a three-compartment organizer at the shoulder strap to separate your sunglasses from your lip balm and energy bars, a front zippered pocket to secure your car keys, two mesh side pockets for water bottles and energy bar wrappers, another bottle holder on the shoulder strap, and an elastic front bungee cord that quickly stows layers away once the day warms up. Mammut also added a carrier for hiking poles and reflective prints to keep you visible in low light.

Hydration Packs Checklist

How Much Pack Capacity? Hydration packs come in all sorts of sizes. Check to packs capacity (not just the water capacity), to see it meeds your needs.
How Much Water Capacity? Better to have a "bit too much" water capacity instead of "not quite enough." Remember, these aren't canteens. "Unused" space in the water reservoir lays flat and weighs little.
Planning on Doing Lots of Day Hiking? If so, you might be better off buying a dedicated technical day pack. Most new ones are now "hydration compatible", allowing you to buy a hydration reservoir and carry it seamlessly inside the pack.
