Product Details

Deuter gave the Compact EXP 16 Hydration Pack a tight fit for fast pursuits while cycling, trail running, and hiking. Its Airstripes suspension system has adjustable stays that flex to fit your back perfectly, and the Auto-Compress waist belt stays snug on you waist thanks to the Pull-Forward adjustments. The suspension system also includes contoured shoulder straps and back panel made with 3D Air Mesh for ventilated cush. The Compact EXP's hydration system features a separate bladder compartment fit for 3L reservoirs, a sealed tube, and a tube line for your hose. There's a stow pocket for the detachable rain cover, and the flat folds out for your helmet. The spacious front pocket has organization slots for tools, tubes, and your smartphone. There are also side pockets for water bottles and waist belt pockets for snacks. Deuter added compression straps for compact security, and the 3M reflective panels keep you visible in low light.

Hydration Packs Checklist

How Much Pack Capacity? Hydration packs come in all sorts of sizes. Check to packs capacity (not just the water capacity), to see it meeds your needs.
How Much Water Capacity? Better to have a "bit too much" water capacity instead of "not quite enough." Remember, these aren't canteens. "Unused" space in the water reservoir lays flat and weighs little.
Planning on Doing Lots of Day Hiking? If so, you might be better off buying a dedicated technical day pack. Most new ones are now "hydration compatible", allowing you to buy a hydration reservoir and carry it seamlessly inside the pack.
