CamelBak Octane LR Hydration Backpack - 330cu in

Product Details

In order to perform at their best, runners absolutely must remain hydrated. The CamelBak Octane LR Hydration Backpack knows this game well. It also knows that the ideal placement for weigh during running is not over your shoulder but above your hips, allowing your torso freedom of movement. A low-profile two-liter Antidote Lumbar reservoir surrounds your hips evenly, providing up to two hours of hydrated running and dispersing weight over a wide area. At just over one pound, the Octane won't cause any significant drag during races or high-intensity trail running. Even the 330 cubic inch stash and organizer pockets are sleek enough to avoid being an obstacle, while still maintaining a small space for your phone, keys, music, or snacks. Lumbar compression and a fully adjustable ultra-light 3D mesh harness keep the Octane fit snugly against your body and free from the annoying bounce of most running packs. If nocturnal runs are your thing, then you'll appreciate the front and back reflective panels as well as the safety whistle already attached where you can easily reach it. Don't fear the rain: a DWR and PU-coated diamond box ripstop protects your stuff while keeping the pack from absorbing water that'll weigh you down. Season after season, CamelBak's super scientists have been hard at work refining and perfecting the Antidote reservoir, the industry's most popular solution to hydration. At the turn of a cap (a quarter turn to be exact), you can open or close the reservoir, refilling and securing it again in seconds. Center baffling and a sleek design prevent your water from jostling about inside your pack while running, hiking, or hitting the park. When not off exploring the world, simply disconnect the tube using the Quick Link System and hang up the Antidote for proper drying or storage. Since last year, CamelBak's go-to reservoir system has actually lost some weight, reducing bulk in the fill port and offering you that much more convenience.

Hydration Packs Checklist

How Much Pack Capacity? Hydration packs come in all sorts of sizes. Check to packs capacity (not just the water capacity), to see it meeds your needs.
How Much Water Capacity? Better to have a "bit too much" water capacity instead of "not quite enough." Remember, these aren't canteens. "Unused" space in the water reservoir lays flat and weighs little.
Planning on Doing Lots of Day Hiking? If so, you might be better off buying a dedicated technical day pack. Most new ones are now "hydration compatible", allowing you to buy a hydration reservoir and carry it seamlessly inside the pack.
