Big Sky Fishing Gallery - The Little Deer

On a trip to Colorado in 1990, we were driving through a wildlife area near Durango Colorado. I spotted a doe deer standing near the side of the road. She didn't run, and kept looking back towards the road. We drove on by her and stopped. I got out of the car.....she just stood there looking back. I looked around on the other side of the road, and saw this little deer hanging in the fence. Somehow, it had gotten it's hind legs hung in the wire. It was just hanging there by its legs. I walked over and carefully got it out of the fence. It never moved or made a sound. I carried it across the road, and laid it down on the ground where its mother could find it. I took several pictures, then very quickly drove away. Later, we came back by this spot, the little deer was gone. If I hadn't happened by, this little deer would have no doubt died. I've thought about this little fellow many times over the years. It's hard to believe it has been almost 20 years ago. I hadn't seen this slide for many years. Scanning these slides, has sure brought back many great memories.
