Just South of Polson, looking North. Flathead National Forest on the right, Kalispell, Whitefish and Glacier Park (75 mi.) to the north. This is the largest and deepest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi and the best Cherries in the world grow on the east side of the lake!! D4570 and Jim both will back me up on the Cherries!!

This is a great little scenic turnout. I've taken a few pictures from here myself - although none ever turned out that good. And yes, the cherries are excellent on the east side of Flathead Lake!

I remember driving up the west side of Flathead Lake in 1998. As I recall, there was a pickup truck that passed me doing about a 100 MPH(chuckle).
