The mine headframe is located just west of Main St. in North Butte. (Can someone help me out with the name?)
Butte is known as "The Richest Hill on Earth". Looking at the landscape there is no wonder how it received this notoriety. During it's heyday there were 14,500 underground miners working the silver, copper, and zinc mines in the area. |
