Cabela's Three Forks Vest And Net Combo

Product Details

A great package deal that comes with a teardrop-shaped Frabill trout net (11L x 15W), magnetic-locking bungee with two D-shaped mini-carabiners and your choice between two quality Three Forks vests. The net has 3/16 coated mesh that prevents hooks from tangling in the netting, and a rubber handle gives you a sure grip when its wet. A lanyard on the net has a heavy-duty clip to connect to one of the carabiners on the bungee, and the other carabiner on the bungee connects to a loop on the back of your vest. When the magnets are engaged, they keep your net behind you and out of the way. Give your nets handle a solid pull to release the magnetic connection to use your net when youre ready for it. Each vest has a front pocket design that features reverse zippers for a cleaner look and easier access. Among the 12 pockets on the front are four deep, oversized zippered pockets for fly boxes, wallets or anything that you need to keep secure. The 10 internal pockets (three zippered) and one large cargo pocket on the back allow for plenty of room for all your gear. Comfort-Plus yoke inset ensures a comfortable fit. Imported.Available vests: Three Forks II Traditional Vest Polyester/cotton fabric. Machine washable. Sizes: S-4XL. Three Forks II Mesh Vest Cool, breathable mesh vest is perfect for warm-weather angling. Machine washable. Sizes: S-4XL.

Fishing Vests Checklist

All Those Pockets! Fishing vests, rather obviously, are designed to have pockets so an angler can carry essential gear. However, there are pockets...and there are not enough/too many pockets. Be sure to get a vest that has both the size of the pockets you need as well as the right number. If you're unsure of the number, try this....6-8 relatively small pockets, 3-4 medium pockets and 2 large pockets. This works for me. Perhaps it will work for you, too.
Mesh or Traditional Fabric? This is total personal preference. I personally prefer mesh vests, as I find it allows for a bit more movement and because it is slightly cooler than a pure fabric vest. But really, get what works for you...not someone else.
Comfort, Comfort and More Comfort! One reason "cheap fishing vests" are cheap is due to lacking any thing that might be considered "comfortable." Good quality vests now have "methods" that help distribute the weight of the vest across your body...not on one slim area around your shoulder. This is important...since a heavy vest that weights down on one particular spot will start feeling like a hundred pounds by the end of a long-day fishing.
You Don't Need Everything! When you start filling up your fly fishing vest, remember you don't need to bring everything with you. The fishing vest is designed to carry stuff you need on the water...not flies or items you only use in certain circumstances. Thus, when packing your fishing vest, be sparse in what you carry. By having fewer items, organization is also far easier.
