Kelty SB 20 Sleeping Bag: 20 Degree Down

Product Details

The lightweight Kelty SB 20 Sleeping Bag stands up to bad weather and cold conditions from fall to spring so you can sleep through the night comfortably regardless of the conditions. Kelty stuffed this bag with 800-fill insulation for an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio that'll keep you surprisingly warm in temps as low as 20-degrees Fahrenheit despite its light weight. The insulation's DriDown treatment repels moisture so the down maintains warmth in rainy weather, and it also helps the bag dry faster in case the down gets wet. Head-2-Toe Dri waterproofing treatment on the shell finishes the head and foot to help keep you dry in case water seeps through your tent at night. Kelty built the SB 20's shell out of nylon ripstop for lightweight durability, and a softer taffeta lining keeps you cozy all night long. FatMan and Ribbon drawcords let you cinch the thermal-comfort hood across your head, and the top draft collar prevents any cold drafts from creeping into the bag. The dual-sliding zipper locks in place and won't snag on the fabric thanks to the draft tube. The toebox has a natural fit so your feet don't feel scrunched. Kelty included a stuff sack as well as a mesh storage sack to prolong the bag's life when you aren't using it.

Three Season Sleeping Bags Checklist

Down vs. Synthetic. The age-old question. Down bags pack down tighter and are a few ounces lighter. On the negative side, they are useless when wet, often take forever to dry (and many can't be tossed into a dryer), and tend to be more expensive.
Heading Out in Wet Weather? Then get a synthetic sleeping bag...period. This way, if your bag gets wet, you won't have a useless sleeping bag for the rest of your trip.
Float Camping? Again...get a synthetic bag. Be a bummer to have your bag end up in the water and become useless for the rest of your float trip.
Where Ounces and Packability Matter. Then go with a goose down bag. This is especially true if you are a bike camper, climber or camp in the desert.
