This photograph was taken about 1.5 miles up the Swiftcurrent Pass Hiking Trail in Glacier National Park. The tall mountain to the left is Mt. Grinnell, which has an elevation of 8851 feet. By and large, the Swiftcurrent Pass Trail passes through open country - this is one of the short forested stretches that the hiking trail passes through.
