Lake McDonald, depsite the damage caused by the Robert Fire in 2003 along the north shore of the lake, is still one of the most beautiful features in Glacier National Park. While Lake McDonald generally doesn't get much use "on the water", the area around Lake McDonald can really get busy during the summer - as Apgar Village, the Going to the Sun Road and the Lake McDonald Lodge are all located on the waters edge.
