This photograph was taken from the Highline Trail, right behind Mt. Gould. In particular, it was taken on the part of the trail where the trail begins to make its way over the informal "pass" that exists behind Haystack Butte. The terrain around Haystack Butte is very open, consisting of a mix of meadows and lots of rocks. During early summer, you can get a ton of flowers popping up in this area as well. Also, Mt. Gould is actually taller than what you see in this photograph. The true summit of Mt. Gould can't be seen from most sections of the Highline Trail - but is highly visible from the Granite Park Chalet and from most areas in the Many Glacier area.
