| I spent about 10 minutes watching these two skiers pick their way down through this rocky and very steep terrain. The skier that is visible in this photo just went over a small cliff - having run out of snow to ski on! His partner waits above him - sort of tucked away in the trees. If you do not know the terrain found off the Ridge it is easy to get lost and "stuck" - or stranded above terrain that either can't be skied at all or which requires some cliff jumping. In this case, these two skiers at first tried to make their way back up the mountain after running out of snow. But, after about a fruitless 5 minute climb that yielded them nothing, they decided to continue skiing down - jumping over the cliff. |
