| This photo
provides a closer up look at the various ski routes down Bridger
Gully. There are indeed ski routes down from the top - but you
do need to know what you are doing and where you are going to ski
this terrains successfully. If you don't know where you are going
it is all to easy to get stuck at the top of one of the big cliffs
or rocks - with no easy way to turn back. Also beware of the avalanche
danger - you can see the slabs of snow hanging over the ridge at
the summit of the mountain in this photo. While the Ski Patrol
actively controls avalanches at Bridger Bowl, they can't prevent
all of them. Which is why an Avalanche Beacon is required to ski
any of the trails off the Ridge at Bridger Bowl Ski Area. |
