Another View From the Summit

View from Whitefish Mountain Summit

This photo was taken just below the summit at Whitefish Mountain on a day when there was a full scale inversion. During inversions, clouds are stuck in the valleys below, making the valleys cold and grey. Meanwhile, up in the mountains the sun shines brightly and the weather is warmer than down in the valley. The mountains in the background are some of the higher peaks in Glacier National Park.
