| Seen here is the steep slopes of Big Mountain ski area, with the Swan Mountains rising up out of the low lying clouds. As you can see, the lower valleys are covered with clouds, but it is sunny up high in the mountains. This happens in NW Montana for several weeks each year. Makes for frustration in the valleys as you never see the sun - but also makes for a great time to go downhill skiing as the views are awesome. |
