Sky Fishing Comments
This is an excellent fly fishing book for the beginner
angler who seeks as much information as possible. While
not as humorous or as fun to read as the Idiots Guide
(above), the books vast amounts of information - combined
with its simplicity in presenting the information -
makes this an excellent fly fishing book for anglers
of all levels.

Review from Amazon.Com
All of the Orvis Streamside guides, most
of them seemingly written by Tom Rosenbauer, are excellent
guides to strategy and the flyfishing approach. (Well
alright, maybe the one about knots wasn't all that scintillating,
but probably great info. for newbies, I suppose.) This
guide is no exception - clear, consice and well-written,
unlike this review. Well worth adding to your flyfishing
bookcase. It's a great guide to what you'll need to
do to hit trout when they don't seem to be actively
feeding on anything. These insights could well salvage
a day streamside.

to cast, why, and what kind of fly to use. It can be
studied prior to a fishing trip or used on the water,
and is organized by water types. Once you identify what
kind of water you are facing-whether riffles, runs,
pocket water, or deep slow water-you can then decide
what kind of fly to use, what leader is appropriate,
and how to present the fly. Streamers, nymphs and wets,
and dry flies are covered. Perfect-sized to be taken
on the road or to streamside, this is a handsome fly
