Buffalo (also known as Bison) are probably the most symbolic of all
the animals in Montana. Once upon a time, vast herds of Buffalo roamed
the plains of eastern and central Montana. Today, Buffalo can still be
found in Montana - primarily in Yellowstone
National Park and in the
National
Bison Range. Several Indian Reservations also manage small herds
of Bison here in Montana.
